Richard also lectures on the aforementioned topics at several universities in Belgium and abroad.

Richard started his career at the KU Leuven, where he wrote a doctoral dissertation in EU and competition law as a Ph.D. fellow of the Research Foundation Flanders. He obtained a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School (Fulbright, Frank Boas & B.A.E.F. fellowships), during which he served as the President of the Harvard European Law Association and received the Mancini award for his work in EU law.
