Following another high profile cyberattack on Tuesday 27 June 2017, Employment, pensions and benefits head partner Stijn Demeestere was quoted by the De Tijd newspaper on the application of temporary unemployment when company IT systems are breached.
Stijn clarifies that it is a case of force majeure, with a sudden and unforeseen event outside the employer's intentions, which makes the execution of the employment contract completely impossible.
