NOB/LOF Dissertation Prize 2016
The 25th edition of the Dutch NOB/LOF Dissertation Prize has been awarded to Laga Junior Associate and member of the Laga Tax Controversy Team Philippe Heeren for his dissertation on the Sustainability of the Arm’s Length Principle as the Basis for International Income Allocation in a Digitalising Economy. Philippe wrote the dissertation, published by Kluwer, during his LL.M. International business taxation at Tilburg University (2015). Philippe is the first non-Dutch student awarded with the Prize.
Particular recognition of the “AFT Meesterwerk” jury
With his dissertation on the recognition of good faith with regard to customs debts, Philippe has also been awarded with a particular recognition by the jury of the 7th edition of the AFT Meesterwerk. The award is granted to the best dissertation in tax law written in the context of a Master study. Philippe obtained his Master’s degree in law at the University of Antwerp (2014). The dissertation was published in the November edition of the Algemeen Fiscaal Tijdschrift (2016/11).
