Laga contributes to draft text of new Belgian Company Code
This new code aims to modernise Belgian company law and make it more flexible in a profound way
7 August 2017
On 20 July 2017, the Belgian council of ministers approved a draft text for the new Company Code. This new code aims to modernise Belgian company law and make it more flexible in a profound way. Once the Council of State has reviewed the draft text (finalisation is presumed to be for beginning October 2017), the federal parliament will proceed in debating the new Companies Code.
One of the co-authors of the new Companies Code is Kristof Maresceau, from the Corporate - M&A practice. As such, Kristof is closely connected with this legislative development, putting Laga in a very good position to communicate on this topic, and advise on how companies can benefit from the various opportunities presented by the envisaged Code.
