Ilse Govaert

Ilse Govaert was a partner in the Employment Law Department at Laga in Diegem. With a law degree from the Catholic University of Leuven, she began her career as a lawyer at the Bar before joining Deloitte as a legal advisor in 1995. She rejoined the Bar as a partner at Laga in 2001.

She specialised in various areas of employment law advice and litigation and advised clients on national and international social security legislation and individual and collective employment law. Ilse also acted as substitute judge at the Labour Court of Brussels.

Ilse was diagnosed with cancer early in 2011 and had been on sick leave undergoing treatment. She passed away peacefully on 1 December 2011.
